A Top Twelve List of Books |
"Make careful choice of the books which you read: let the holy scriptures ever have the pre-eminence, and, next to them, those solid, lively, heavenly treatises which best expound and apply the scriptures, and next, credible histories, especially of the Church...but take heed of false teachers who would corrupt your understandings."
Richard Baxter
Books Worthy of Investment
Believing that one of the most important Christian callings is the renewing of the mind, the Session of New Hope Presbyterian Church encourages a regular and thoughtful engagement with good Christian books. The books noted here are chosen from among those that have been most influential to our congregation's life and piety over our history as a church, and we believe they represent some of the best Christian writing available today. We trust that any book you choose will supply rich nourishment for your heart and mind. In the list below, each book is linked to a site where it can be purchased online. Also, you will find a selection of these works on display for purchase in our meeting hall on the Lord's Day.
